A/C Condenser - the high-side heat exchanger of the air conditioning circuit, mounted at the front of the cooling pack ahead of the radiator.

Hot high-pressure refrigerant leaving the compressor passes through the condenser, where ram air and the cooling fans remove its heat and condense it back to a liquid before it continues to the receiver/drier and expansion valve. Condenser performance therefore sets the cooling capacity available at the evaporator, which is why a blocked or damaged condenser shows up first as poor cooling at idle and in slow-moving traffic.

Its position at the leading face of the pack leaves it exposed to stone damage and to salt corrosion at the tube-to-fin joints, both of which cause slow refrigerant loss. Recover the refrigerant and evacuate the system before removal, renew the O-rings at the line connections, and recharge with the specified refrigerant charge and oil quantity after fitting.
