Coolant flow control valve for the engine cooling circuit.

The valve is electrically actuated and regulates coolant flow under control of the engine control module, forming part of the thermal management system that lets the engine warm through quickly after a cold start and then holds coolant temperature within its target band. Controlled warm-up shortens the period of high friction and rich running, and stabilises cabin heater output.

Applies to the 2.0L I4 Ingenium (AJ200) petrol engine. A valve that sticks or loses its electrical drive shows as slow warm-up, coolant temperature outside the normal operating band, or a stored thermal management fault.
