Rear Exhaust Damping Mass - tuned mass damper for the rear section of the exhaust system.

The damper clamps to the rear exhaust pipework and adds calibrated mass at a specific point on the system. This shifts the natural frequency of the exhaust away from the engine and driveline excitation range, suppressing the resonant drone and vibration that would otherwise be transmitted through the exhaust mountings into the body structure.

Fitted to 2.0L I4 diesel applications. Renew if the isolator has perished or the mass has worked loose on the pipe, and refit it in the original position - moving the damper along the pipework changes the frequency it controls.
