NOx Trap Temperature Sensor for the exhaust aftertreatment system, mounted in the exhaust stream at the NOx trap.

The sensor measures exhaust gas temperature at the trap and reports it to the engine control module, which uses the reading to manage NOx trap regeneration and to protect the aftertreatment components from over-temperature. A drifting or failed sensor typically sets an emissions fault code and can inhibit regeneration.
