It guides the timing belt around the upper drive components and maintains correct belt alignment and wrap relative to the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys. Roughness or play in the pulley bearing leads to belt tracking problems and, left unattended, to belt failure.

For the 3.0L V6 turbocharged diesel. The left-hand equivalent is LR120557.
