Coolant Bypass Tube - rigid coolant transfer tube in the engine cooling system, connecting the thermostat housing to the heater water circuit.

It carries coolant around the thermostat while the engine is below operating temperature, so that flow is maintained through the block and the heater circuit before the main radiator loop opens. The tube seals to the housing and to the connecting hoses with O-rings; leaks normally appear at these joints or at corrosion points along the tube itself.

Fitted to the 3.0L AJ20P6 Ingenium six-cylinder petrol engine.
