Heater Coolant Hose from the cabin heating circuit of the 3.0L AJ20P6 petrol engine.

The hose carries hot coolant between the engine and the heater matrix in the HVAC housing, forming part of the branch that runs from the cylinder head take-off through the bulkhead to the heater core and back into the cooling circuit. It is a moulded hose shaped to clear the surrounding engine bay components along its run.

Failure usually appears as a slow coolant loss with a sweet smell in the engine bay; an internally collapsed hose instead shows up as poor cabin heat output with the cooling system otherwise sealed.
