Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor for the lower sensing position at the diesel particulate filter, within the exhaust aftertreatment system.

The sensor threads into a boss in the exhaust and reports gas temperature to the engine control module, which uses the signal to trigger and manage DPF regeneration and to protect the turbocharger and aftertreatment components against over-temperature. Fitted to the 2.0L I4 Ingenium (AJ200) turbo diesel in DPF-equipped emissions configurations.

An out-of-range or open-circuit sensor will normally inhibit regeneration and log a related fault code.
