Lambda Sensor (heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor) for the middle sensing position on the right-hand bank of the exhaust system.

The sensor measures residual oxygen in the exhaust gas and returns a signal to the engine control module, which uses it to trim the fuel mixture and to monitor catalytic converter efficiency. Fitted to the 3.0L DOHC GDI supercharged V6 petrol engine.

A slow or drifting sensor usually shows up as poor fuel economy, uneven running and emissions-related fault codes rather than an outright failure.
