Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor for the diesel particulate filter stage of the exhaust aftertreatment system.

The sensor connects to the exhaust by steel pressure pipes and measures the gas pressure across the particulate filter substrate. The engine control module uses this signal to calculate how much soot has accumulated in the filter, to decide when a regeneration cycle is required, and to confirm that the cycle has completed. A failed or blocked sensor typically presents as stored emission fault codes and unsuccessful regeneration.
