Radiator is the primary heat exchanger of the Engine Cooling System, transferring heat from the engine coolant to the air drawn through the front cooling pack. This unit is the 3.0L V6 diesel installation.

Coolant leaves the engine through the thermostat housing and enters the radiator via the top hose, passes through the core matrix where it gives up its heat, and returns to the water pump inlet through the bottom hose. The unit mounts in the front-end carrier alongside the air-conditioning condenser and the charge-air and transmission coolers, with the fan module drawing air through the stack when road speed is insufficient for ram airflow.

Core depth and hose connection positions are specific to the 3.0L V6 diesel cooling pack and differ from the petrol and V8 units, so the radiator is not interchangeable across engine variants.

Refill with the correct coolant specification and bleed the system completely on refitting; a trapped air pocket will produce erratic gauge behaviour and localised overheating.
