Brand Autotec Components
Fuel Pressure Sensor for the high-pressure common-rail circuit of the 4.4L DOHC DITC V8 turbo diesel.

The sensor is mounted in the fuel rail and reports actual rail pressure to the engine control module. The ECM compares that signal against the commanded pressure and adjusts the high-pressure pump metering valve and the rail pressure control valve so that injection pressure tracks demand across the load range.

A drifting or failed pressure signal commonly presents as hard starting, rough running, reduced power or a stored fuel-pressure fault code. Supplied as an individual sensor.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fuel pressure sensor and what does it do?
The fuel pressure sensor sits in the high-pressure common-rail circuit of the 4.4 V8 diesel and reports actual rail pressure to the engine control module. The ECM compares it to the target and adjusts the high-pressure pump and rail control valve so injection pressure tracks demand across the load range.
Which vehicles and engine does it fit?
This fuel pressure sensor fits the 4.4-litre DOHC DITC V8 diesel in the Range Rover L405 2013-2022 (from VIN MA456533) and Range Rover Sport L494 2014-2022 (VIN NA208039 to NA699999). It's specific to that engine, so confirm your engine and VIN before ordering.
What are the symptoms of a failing fuel pressure sensor?
A failing or drifting fuel pressure sensor commonly shows as hard starting, rough running, reduced power, or a stored fuel-pressure fault code. Because the ECM relies on its signal to control rail pressure, a bad sensor can put the engine into a limited-power limp mode.
Is it sold individually and where is it fitted?
It's supplied as an individual sensor. The sensor is mounted in the fuel rail on the high-pressure side of the common-rail system. Because it sits in the high-pressure fuel circuit, fitting is a workshop job with the rail depressurised first.
