Exhaust Manifold Gasket - left-hand bank gasket sealing the joint between the cylinder head exhaust ports and the exhaust manifold.

It contains combustion gas pressure at the port face and absorbs the differential thermal expansion between the aluminium head and the manifold casting as the engine cycles between cold and full operating temperature. Fitted to the 5.0L AJ133 V8 petrol engine.

The gasket is a single-use item and should be renewed whenever the manifold is disturbed. A failed gasket presents as an exhaust leak audible under load, usually with scorching or soot tracking visible around the joint face.
