Brand LEMFORDER
Front Upper Suspension Arm, left-hand side - the upper wishbone of the front double-wishbone suspension assembly.

The upper arm locates the top of the wheel knuckle to the body structure and, working with the lower arm, controls camber and caster change through wheel travel. It pivots on bushes at the inboard mountings and connects to the knuckle through a ball joint at the outboard end.

Wear at the bushes or the outboard ball joint typically presents as knocking over uneven surfaces, imprecise steering and uneven front tyre wear. Wheel alignment should be checked after replacement.

Frequently asked questions

What does the front upper suspension arm do on the New Defender?
The front upper suspension arm is the upper wishbone of the Defender L663's front double-wishbone suspension. It locates the top of the wheel knuckle to the body and, with the lower arm, controls camber and caster through wheel travel. This is the left-hand side.
Which Defender does this left-hand arm fit?
This left-hand upper arm fits the New Defender L663 from 2020, non-SV specification, from VIN R2316409. It's an OEM Lemforder part, Land Rover number LR181854. Use your VIN to confirm the build point, since earlier chassis and SV models can differ.
What are the symptoms of a worn upper suspension arm?
Worn arm bushes or the outboard ball joint typically show as knocking over uneven surfaces, imprecise steering and uneven front tyre wear. The arm pivots on bushes inboard and connects to the knuckle through a ball joint outboard. Have the wheel alignment checked after replacement.
Do I need the left or right suspension arm?
This is the left-hand front upper arm for the Defender L663. The right-hand equivalent is a separate part, LR181852G. Arms are side-specific, so order by the corner you're replacing. It's common to renew both sides together when mileage is high.
