Front Brake Disc is the vented rotor that mounts to the front hub and presents the friction surface for the front brake caliper and pads.
The internally vented construction draws cooling air between the two friction faces to dissipate heat during sustained or heavy braking, limiting brake fade and thermal distortion. It forms part of the front foundation brake assembly, rotating with the road wheel as the caliper clamps the pads against both faces to generate stopping force.
The disc carries a protective coating over its hub and non-friction surfaces to resist corrosion; the braking faces wear clean as the pads bed in.
