Crankshaft Main Bearing Set for the 2.2 TDCi / 2.4 TDCi Duratorq (Puma) diesel engine, forming part of the crankshaft and main bearing assembly.
The main bearing shells carry the crankshaft in the block's main bearing housings. They present a soft running surface to the main journals and maintain the oil film that separates journal from bearing under load, so they are a wear item renewed whenever the crankshaft is removed or the block is stripped.
This is the 0.25 mm oversize grade, matched to main journals machined to the corresponding service dimension rather than to a crankshaft at standard size.
Bearing shell backs and their housings must be clean and dry at assembly, with the running faces lubricated before the crankshaft is fitted. Running clearance should be checked against specification during reassembly.
