Throttle body and motor assembly for the 4.4L V8 petrol engine (M62 B44), mounted in the air intake system between the intake air duct and the intake manifold.

The assembly meters the air mass admitted to the manifold. It is electronically actuated: an integral motor drives the throttle plate in response to the engine control module rather than through a direct cable link to the accelerator pedal, and an integral throttle position sensor reports plate angle back to the module. Supplied complete with the motor and position sensor in the housing.

A failing unit typically presents as erratic or hunting idle, delayed or non-linear throttle response, a restricted-performance condition or a stored throttle position fault.
