Stud used in the rear body upper fixings.
The stud provides the threaded shank at the upper mounting points where the rear body ties into the vehicle structure, taking the fixing nut that pulls the body down onto its mounting.
The joint sits in an exposed, water-catching position, so the threads corrode and the stud is normally renewed rather than reused whenever the rear body is disturbed for repair or replacement. Four are used per vehicle.
