Upper tailgate - the aluminium upper section of the two-piece rear tailgate, hinged at the roof line above the lower drop-down tailgate.
The panel frames the rear screen aperture and carries the mounting points for the tailgate hinges, latch and support stays. It is supplied less central door locking, so a vehicle equipped with central locking transfers its existing lock actuator across to the replacement panel.
Replacement is usually driven by rear-end impact damage, or by corrosion around the screen aperture and along the lower panel edges.
