Front Brake Disc - vented rotor for the front braking assembly.

The disc mounts to the front wheel hub and provides the friction surface the brake pads clamp against, converting the vehicle's momentum into heat under braking. Internal vanes between the two friction faces draw air through the rotor as it turns, shedding that heat far more quickly than a solid disc and resisting fade on long descents or under repeated heavy braking - which is why the vented disc is used at the front, where the greater share of the braking load is carried.

Supplied individually; two are required per vehicle. Discs should be renewed in axle pairs together with a fresh set of pads, and the new friction surfaces bedded in progressively before hard use.
