Pulley - Auxiliary Drive is the tension pulley of the auxiliary drive belt system, carrying the tensioner spring load against the polyvee accessory belt.
Mounted on the tensioner arm, it maintains belt wrap around the crankshaft and accessory pulleys and turns continuously whenever the engine is running. Bearing wear shows as a rumble or whine that follows engine speed, and in advanced cases as belt misalignment and edge wear.
For the 4.4L V8 DOHC petrol engine (BMW M62 B44).
