Auxiliary Drive Belt - polyvee belt for the accessory drive on the 4.0L Cologne V6 SOHC EFI petrol engine.
Driven from the crankshaft pulley, the belt transmits power to the belt-driven ancillaries at the front of the engine and is routed over the tensioner and idler pulleys of the pulleys and drive belts assembly. Running tension is held by the automatic tensioner, so a worn belt or a tired tensioner typically announces itself as squeal on start-up and under load.
Inspect the ribbed face for cracks running across the ribs, glazing or missing rib material. Renew the tensioner alongside the belt if its pulley bearing feels rough or has play.
