Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Split Pin used throughout the handbrake and gearchange linkages.

The pin passes through a clevis pin or castle nut and its legs are spread on assembly, locking the joint so it cannot work loose under vibration. It secures handbrake cable and lever attachments, gearchange linkage connections on both manual and automatic transmissions, and the associated linkage rod assemblies.

A single-use fastener: fit a new pin whenever the joint it retains is disturbed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PS104127 split pin used for?
The PS104127 split pin is a locking fixing used in handbrake cable, handbrake lever and gearchange linkage assemblies. It fits the Defender (1987-2006), Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic and Range Rover P38, securing clevis pins and castellated fittings.
Can a split pin be reused?
No, a split pin is single-use. Once bent and fitted it's work-hardened, so you should always fit a new PS104127 pin when reassembling handbrake or gearchange linkages rather than refitting the old one.
How many split pins do I need?
Typically you'll need one PS104127 split pin per clevis or linkage joint being reassembled. Because they're single-use, it's worth ordering a few spares when working on the handbrake or gearchange linkage.
