Front Shock Absorber - Air Suspension - the front damper unit used in the air suspension system, fitted to vehicles built with air springs in place of coil springs.

The air spring carries the load and sets ride height; this damper provides the hydraulic damping alongside it, controlling the speed at which the front suspension compresses and rebounds so the wheel stays in contact with the ground. Two are fitted, one at each front corner.

Replace in pairs so damping rates remain matched across the axle. Oil residue on the damper body, knocking over bumps or an unsettled ride after an input are the usual signs of wear.
