Piston ring set for the 3.5L Rover V8 petrol engine, supplied per piston.

The rings seal the combustion chamber against the cylinder bore, transfer heat from the piston crown into the bore wall, and control the oil film returning to the sump. Ring and bore condition together govern compression, blow-by into the crankcase and oil consumption.

Supplied at .020in oversize, to suit cylinder bores machined 0.020in over standard. One set covers a single piston, so eight sets are required for a complete engine.
