Trim Drive Fastener for securing interior trim to the body structure.

This is a blind, drive-in fastener used where trim must be retained from the front face only, with no access behind the panel. The body is pushed through the trim material into a pre-drilled aperture and the centre pin is then driven home, expanding the shank behind the panel and locking the fastener in place.

It is used at carpet and headlining fixing points, where a conventional nut and bolt cannot be reached and a clamped, non-marking fixing is required.

The fastener is consumable: the shank commonly splits or loses its grip when trim is disturbed, so replacements are usually required whenever interior panels or carpets are lifted.
