Blade Fuse rated at 3 A.

Standard blade-type fuse for the vehicle fusebox. It protects a single circuit by melting its internal element when current exceeds the rating, breaking the supply before the wiring or the connected component is damaged.

Always replace with a fuse of the same rating. A higher-rated fuse leaves the circuit and its wiring unprotected. Repeated failure of a fuse indicates a fault in the circuit rather than a faulty fuse.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTC4481 3 amp blade fuse used for?
The RTC4481 is a 3 amp standard blade fuse that protects a low-current electrical circuit from overload. It's used in the fuse box on the Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic and Range Rover P38 to guard wiring and components on low-draw circuits.
Is one 3 amp fuse enough, or should I keep spares?
The RTC4481 is sold individually. Blade fuses are consumable, so it's worth keeping spare 3 amp fuses in the vehicle. Always replace a blown fuse with the same 3 amp rating to protect the Discovery 1 or Range Rover circuit correctly.
How do I know which circuit uses a 3 amp fuse?
Check the fuse box legend or handbook for your Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic or P38 to find which circuits use a 3 amp fuse. Fitting a higher rated fuse in a 3 amp slot risks wiring damage, so match the rating exactly.
