Fuel Lift Pump for the 2.25-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, mounted on the side of the cylinder block and sitting in the fuel supply circuit between the tank and the carburettor.

The pump is a mechanical diaphragm type, operated by an eccentric on the engine camshaft. It draws fuel from the tank and delivers it at low pressure to the carburettor float chamber, maintaining supply under load without drawing on the electrical system.

A perished diaphragm or worn internal valves show up as fuel starvation under sustained throttle, difficult hot starting, or fuel seepage at the pump body.
