Front Brake Disc Splash Shield (backing plate) from the front brake disc and caliper assembly. The shield mounts behind the disc on the hub carrier and screens the inboard face of the disc from road spray, grit and debris thrown up by the wheel.

Shielding the inboard friction face keeps water and abrasive material off the disc, reducing pad and disc wear and limiting corrosion build-up around the disc hat and hub mounting face. It also helps direct airflow across the disc during cooling.

A distorted or heavily corroded shield will foul the disc and produce a rotating scraping noise that is easily mistaken for worn pads. Fits non-armoured vehicle builds.
