Windscreen Washer Pump - the electrically driven pump for the windscreen and backlight wash system.
The pump mounts to the washer reservoir and draws fluid from it, delivering it under pressure through the washer tubing to the jets. It is energised by the wash/wipe switch and runs only while the switch is operated, so a failed pump typically presents as jets that produce no spray while the wipers themselves continue to work normally.
Dry running will damage the pump - do not operate the washer switch with an empty reservoir.
