Auxiliary Drive Belt Tensioner Pulley - the idler wheel carried on the automatic belt tensioner arm in the auxiliary drive circuit of the 2.5L six-cylinder diesel.

The spring-loaded tensioner arm presses this pulley against the belt to maintain constant tension as the belt warms up, stretches and passes through load changes from the alternator and the other driven ancillaries. The pulley runs on a sealed bearing, and a rumble or squeal that rises and falls with engine speed commonly traces back to it.
