Main Bearing Set for the crankshaft main journals of the 2.5 litre four-cylinder diesel engine (naturally aspirated, turbo diesel, 200 Tdi and 300 Tdi), supplied 0.020" (0.51 mm) oversize on shell thickness.

The set provides the upper and lower bearing shells that locate the crankshaft in the cylinder block main saddles and carry crankshaft loads into the block. The oversize shells restore the correct running clearance on a crankshaft whose main journals have been reground 0.020" undersize.

Fitted during a bottom-end rebuild, with the main bearing caps torqued to specification and the crankshaft endfloat set by the thrust washers. Bearing shells must match the actual reground journal diameter, so confirm the crankshaft grind size before ordering.
