Applied to the bore of the bush and to the inner sleeve or through-bolt at assembly. A polyurethane bush rotates against its sleeve rather than deflecting internally the way a bonded rubber bush does, so that sliding interface has to be greased on fitting; without it the joint runs dry and develops the squeak characteristic of an unlubricated polyurethane bush.
