Brand Terrafirma
Damper Rod - replacement shaft for the 2.5" two-way adjustable remote-reservoir coilover.

The damper rod carries the piston through the shock body and provides the sealing surface for the shaft seal. It is the most exposed part of the damper: a bent rod or a stone chip in the chrome will score the seal, allowing oil loss and venting of the gas charge. Replacing the rod restores the sealing surface without renewing the complete coilover.

On the dual adjustable coilover the lower end of the rod carries the rebound adjuster, so the shaft must match the shock being rebuilt. The shaft seal should be renewed at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

What is this damper rod?
This is a replacement shaft for the 2.5in two-way adjustable remote-reservoir coilover. The rod carries the piston through the shock body and provides the sealing surface for the shaft seal, so it is the most exposed part of the damper.
Which coilover does this rod suit?
This rod matches the Terrafirma 2.5in dual-adjustable coilover (TFR2516, 16in travel). On the dual adjustable coilover the lower end of the rod carries the rebound adjuster, so the shaft must match the shock being rebuilt.
What are the signs the damper rod needs replacing?
Replace the rod when it is bent or a stone chip has scored the chrome, since a damaged surface scores the shaft seal and lets oil leak and the gas charge vent. Renew the shaft seal at the same time to restore sealing.
