Fuel Pipe - twin-line pump-to-engine section of the fuel delivery circuit on the 2.5L Td5 five-cylinder turbo diesel.

The two lines are routed together as a single moulded assembly and carry the feed from the tank-mounted fuel pump forward along the chassis to the engine-mounted filter and injection system, with the return line taking unused fuel back to the tank.

The assembly is pre-formed to its fitted shape so it follows the chassis run without kinking. Perished, chafed or corroded pipework in this section shows up as a fuel smell, a weeping joint or hard starting caused by air drawn into the feed.

Why does the Td5 fuel pipe need replacing?
Perished, chafed or corroded sections are the usual reason on the Td5 Defender. The pipe runs along the chassis where it's exposed to road spray and abrasion. A cracked line causes fuelling faults, air ingress and hard starting, so it's renewed as a complete assembly.
Does this pipe need shaping on fitting?
