Sealing washer for a threaded fitting in the engine lubrication circuit.
The washer seats under the shoulder of the fitting and is compressed as the fitting is tightened down, forming the oil-tight joint. Applications include the oil pressure switch and the oil cooler line blanking plug in the timing cover on V8 petrol engines.
Replace the washer whenever the fitting is disturbed. A washer that has already been compressed once will not reseal reliably.
