Frequently asked questions

What is the BTR8206 mirror cover used for?
The BTR8206 is an exterior mirror cover, known as a cheater, for the Land Rover Discovery 1 (1989-1998). It's the trim panel that sits where the door mirror mounts to the door, covering the mount and tidying the join between mirror arm and door.
Where does the mirror cheater fit?
The mirror cheater fits on the front door of the Discovery 1 (1989-1998), at the forward top corner where the exterior mirror attaches. It covers the mirror base and the inner corner of the door frame, hiding fixings and finishing the mount area.
How many mirror covers do I need?
You'll typically need one cheater per door mirror, so two to do both sides of a Discovery 1. They're usually sold individually. These covers crack or fade with sun exposure, so check both sides, since the sunny side often ages first.
How do I confirm this mirror cover fits my Discovery 1?
Confirm your Discovery 1 falls in the 1989-1998 range, VIN FA393361 to WA799999, and that you need the exterior mirror cheater. Similar covers fit related mirror mounts, so match the shape and side against your existing part before ordering.
