Frequently asked questions

What is the BTR6078 A/C coupling assembly used for?
BTR6078 is a female coupling assembly for the air conditioning system on Discovery 1 models fitted with factory air conditioning. It connects the A/C refrigerant lines at a quick-connect joint.
Which Discovery 1 models does BTR6078 fit?
BTR6078 fits Discovery 1 (1989-1998) built with factory air conditioning, from VIN LA081991 onward. It won't fit Discovery 1 vehicles without the factory A/C option, so confirm your vehicle has it before ordering.
Do I need to discharge the A/C system to fit BTR6078?
Yes. Because BTR6078 is a coupling in the refrigerant circuit, the air conditioning system typically needs to be professionally discharged before disconnecting it, and recharged by a qualified technician afterward.
