Frequently asked questions

What is the MUC3186 trim clip used for?

The MUC3186 trim clip is a panel-retaining fastener that secures interior door casing and exterior bodyside and drip-rail trim to the body. It pushes into a mounting hole and grips to hold the panel or moulding firmly against the bodywork.

How many trim clips will I need?

You'll typically need several. Door casings and trim mouldings are usually held by a row of clips, so the MUC3186 is normally bought in multiples. Count the fixing points on your panel, and replace any clips that have gone brittle while the trim is off.

Where are these trim clips used on the vehicle?

These trim clips secure the front door casing, plus bodyside and drip-rail trim depending on model. They sit in the panel mounting holes around the door and roof edge, holding the trim in position against the body.

Which models does the MUC3186 trim clip fit?

The MUC3186 trim clip fits the Land Rover Defender (1987-2006), Discovery 1 (drip rail and bodyside trim) and Range Rover Classic front door casings. Applications vary by model, so check the trim you're securing matches one of these uses.
