Frequently asked questions

What is this switch used for?

This genuine Land Rover switch covers more than one electrical application. SAP records list it as a console and rear door switch on the Discovery 1, and as a front seat switch, both memory and non-memory versions, on the Range Rover Classic.

How many switches do I need for the job?

That depends on which circuit you're fixing. Console, door and seat switch positions each typically use one unit, so confirm which specific application your vehicle needs before ordering more than one.

Why does the fitment note list more than one use for this switch?

This part number is genuinely shared across different roles: Discovery 1 console and rear door switches, and Range Rover Classic front seat switches. Confirm which function you're replacing before ordering, since the switch position varies by model.

How do I confirm this fits my vehicle?

For a Discovery 1 built 1989 to 1998, this covers console and rear door switch positions. For a Range Rover Classic, it covers front seat switches up to chassis VIN HA610293, plus seat memory and non-memory variants through 1994.
