Inlet Manifold Insert - press-in insert that forms the vacuum take-off union in the upper inlet manifold.

The insert is pressed into a machined bore in the manifold and provides the spigot for the brake servo vacuum hose, carrying manifold depression from the inlet tract through to the servo. It sits on the boundary between the induction system and the brake vacuum circuit, so a loose or deteriorated insert shows both as an unmetered air leak into the manifold and as a loss of servo assistance.
