Air Cleaner to Airflow Meter Seal seals the joint between the air cleaner housing outlet and the airflow meter in the engine air intake tract. It maintains an airtight connection so that the air reaching the airflow meter has passed through the filter element, preventing unfiltered air and dust from bypassing the filter and entering the intake.

A hardened, distorted or split seal lets unmetered air into the intake, which can disturb the mass airflow signal and the engine's fuelling. Inspect and renew it whenever the air cleaner or airflow meter is disturbed.
