This self-tensioning spring band clip secures a coolant or heater hose onto its stub. Unlike a screw clamp, the sprung band maintains a constant clamping force, taking up the expansion and contraction of the hose as it heats and cools so the joint stays sealed against coolant pressure. Renew if the clip has weakened or lost tension.
