Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
O-Ring for the power steering hydraulic circuit, sealing the low-pressure pipe connection to the power steering box.

This is the green, thick-section variant, colour-coded and sized to suit the low-pressure return joint at the steering box. It seals the mating face to prevent hydraulic fluid leakage, fitting both left- and right-hand drive applications. Replace whenever the joint is disturbed to maintain a reliable seal.

Frequently asked questions

What is this power steering O-ring for?
This O-ring seals the low-pressure power steering pipe connection at the steering box on the Discovery 2. The green thick-section variant is colour-coded and sized for this specific low-pressure return joint, preventing hydraulic fluid leakage at the mating face.
How do I tell this apart from the brown power steering O-ring?
The green thick O-ring seals the low-pressure pipe-to-box joint, while the brown thick variant seals a different joint in the same Discovery 2 circuit. They are colour-coded to prevent mix-ups, so match the colour of the seal you are removing.
When should it be replaced?
Replace this O-ring whenever the low-pressure pipe joint at the steering box is disturbed. The rubber hardens and takes a set over time, so reusing an old seal on a Discovery 2 typically leads to power steering fluid weeping from the connection.
