Drag link tube - the tube section of the drag link, the long steering rod that runs ahead of the front axle and connects the steering box drop arm to the steering arm on the swivel hub.

The drag link translates the arc described by the drop arm into lateral movement at the road wheel, so it carries the full steering input load along with any impact fed back from the front axle. Wear or distortion here shows up as free play at the steering wheel, wander on the straight-ahead and imprecise turn-in.

Threaded at each end to accept the drag link ball joint ends and their clamps, so the assembled length - and with it the straight-ahead steering wheel position - can be set on assembly. Right-hand drive steering linkage.
