Anti-Roll Bar - Rear - rear stabiliser bar from the rear suspension cross member assembly.

The bar runs across the vehicle behind the rear axle, clamped to the chassis in two rubber bushes with each end tied to the axle by a drop link. As one wheel rises relative to the other the bar twists, transferring load across the axle to limit body roll in cornering while leaving articulation in parallel bump largely unaffected.

This bar is the specification for coil spring rear suspension without Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE); vehicles with the ACE hydraulic anti-roll system take a different rear bar. Mounting bushes and drop links are supplied separately.
Vehicle Model Land Rover Discovery 2 1998-2004 (L318)
Fitment Notes DISCOVERY 2 1998-2004 — Rear anti-roll bar. With coil spring suspension, less/non Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE).

Frequently asked questions

What does the rear anti-roll bar do on a Discovery 2?
The rear anti-roll bar is the stabiliser bar behind the rear axle on the Land Rover Discovery 2 (1998-2004). Clamped to the chassis in two bushes and linked to the axle by drop links, it twists as one wheel rises to transfer load across the axle and limit body roll.
Does this rear anti-roll bar fit ACE-equipped vehicles?
No, this rear anti-roll bar is for Discovery 2 with coil spring suspension and without ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement). ACE vehicles use a different system, so confirm your suspension type before ordering.
What are the signs of a worn rear anti-roll bar setup?
A worn rear anti-roll bar setup typically knocks over bumps and allows more body roll in corners. The bar itself rarely wears, so the bushes and drop links are usually the parts that need attention first.
