Front Shock Absorber - ACE - part of the front suspension damping assembly.
Mounted between the front axle and its chassis bracket, the damper works with the front road spring to control axle oscillation and body movement, keeping the tyre loaded over uneven ground. Float or wallow after a bump, nose dive under braking and cupped tyre wear all point to a worn unit.
This is the damper specification for chassis built with air suspension and with Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE), the hydraulic anti-roll system that stiffens the anti-roll bars under cornering load. A separate damper is specified for vehicles without ACE and the two are not interchangeable. Fit one per side and renew as an axle pair so damping stays balanced left to right.
