Ride Height Sensor - Rear reports axle-to-body displacement to the suspension control module, forming the feedback element of the self-levelling and air suspension control loop.

The sensor body mounts to the chassis and is coupled to the suspension arm by a drop link, so arm movement rotates the sensor spindle and varies its output. The control module compares that signal against the target height and commands the valve block to admit or vent air until the two agree.

A sensor reading outside its expected range, or a detached drop link, typically presents as a suspension fault warning with the vehicle held at a fixed height instead of levelling - the linkage should be checked before the sensor is condemned.
