Rear Anti-Roll Bar Bush - polyurethane mounting bush for the rear anti-roll bar, for coil-sprung rear suspension.
The bush clamps the bar into its chassis mounting bracket and forms the pivot the bar twists within as the body rolls. A worn or softened bush lets the bar shift inside its mounting, which delays the bar's response to roll input and can produce knocking over uneven surfaces. Polyurethane holds its shape under the clamp better than bonded rubber, keeping the bar located.
A different bush is used on air-sprung rear suspension.
