The bush clamps the anti-roll bar into its chassis mounting bracket, locating the bar laterally while allowing it to rotate as the suspension articulates. This bush is specific to vehicles fitted with ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement), where the anti-roll bar is hydraulically actuated by a ram rather than acting purely in torsion, so the mountings carry higher and more frequent loading. ACE and non-ACE bushes are not interchangeable.

Worn bushes allow the bar to move in its mounting, giving a knock over uneven surfaces and reducing the precision of roll control.
